THE GENESIS INITIATIVE IMPACT FUND

Thank you for supporting The Genesis Initiative’s efforts to develop, produce and distribute Christian-themed movie and television projects that will positively impact our culture. Every charitable gift The Genesis Initiative receives will benefit from our responsible stewardship of those gifts through our Impact Fund to leverage the strongest possible spiritual and cultural impact.

The Genesis Impact Fund selectively provides financial support to projects reflecting the good, the true, and the beautiful, which will have a multi-generational impact. Because the financial support provided by the Impact Fund takes the form of either an investment or loan to a specific project, returns on those funds flow back into the Impact Fund to create future opportunities for supporting more projects in the future.

This structure allows people at every level of financial capacity to make gifts that will continue giving forever. Your initial gift will help fund the existing slate of movie and TV projects the Impact Fund is committed to supporting. All charitable contributions to The Genesis Initiative qualify for a tax benefit to the fullest extent of the law. At the same time, your gift goes to work helping to transform the culture.

In the not-so-distant future, when Fund is repaid, your money (plus whatever returns were earned) will go to work supporting another similar project. This process will repeat itself over and over, thus giving your gift a lasting power to help shape the future for generations to come.

Planned gifts are gifts made from assets and require more planning and counsel than most other gifts.

Planned gifts may provide a family with immediate income, income to charity over time or delay a gift for lifetime or other period of years while a family retains income and/or access to the assets used to fund the gift.

Because of the current or future charitable benefits, there are tax benefits and consequences that may need to be considered.

If you are 70 ½ or older, you can make a tax-free gift directly from your IRA account. The law allows you to transfer any amount up to $100,000 (annually) directly to a qualified charitable organization, The Genesis Initiative, without paying income tax on the distribution.

The transfer does not generate taxable income or a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your tax deductions.

A charitable distribution also counts as part of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), and must be made directly through your financial advisor to The Genesis Initiative. Please contact us if you would like help with this.

A gift of your securities, including stocks or bonds, retirement funds, or life insurance policies is an easy way to make a gift. By making a gift of your appreciated securities, you can avoid paying capital gains tax that would otherwise be due if you sold these assets.

To make a gift using your Charitable Gift Account (Donor Advised Fund) at your brokerage firm by recommending grants online, on the phone, by fax or by mail, follow the easy steps below: As a Charitable Gift Account (aka Donor Advised Fund) Holder, you can make grant recommendations to the charitable accounts at your brokerage firm.

Recommendations are generally processed within a few business days, and those made online are generally processed immediately. There are no restrictions on the maximum number of grants that can be recommended in any given time period, and the minimum requirement is at least one grant every seven years.
